Guest demonstrator GAE LAVERTY Mullumbimby Northern New South Wales.

My introduction to china painting was some 25 years ago at our local Adult Learning Association. Louise Hopping use to travel to our Group and teach weekly.

Having never liked doing anything that didn't “move quickly” I was astounded when I just “locked” into porcelain painting and have been addicted ever since.

I have been very privileged to have painted with many Australian artists as well as various overseas teachers when they visited Australia and from these people I have gained a great amount of knowledge and skills. I enjoy painting most forms of porcelain art namely traditional painting/animals/ birds/textures/fruit in various styles/scenery/ raised paste and gold work as well as glass painting and slumping.

I have a small group of ladies I teach most weeks as well as having taught seminars in various parts of Queensland , N.S.W. and South Korea . It is such a wonderful art form and I have formed a lot of friendships and had a lot of laughs and fellowship along the way.
